Monitoring rivers and streams
Members have been monitoring water quality, flow of streams, the status of creatures at about 100 points along 8 rivers and streams.  The monitoring was started on January, 1997. 

The water quality monitoring was implemented every month in 1997 and has been implemented 4 times a year and additionally when rice fields are puddled prior to transplantation of rice seedlings since 1998. The aquatic creature monitoring is done once or twice a year.

Items to be monitored are COD, nitrogen (as nitric nitnogen), phosphorus (as phosphoric phosphorus), transparency and pH which are measured using "Pack Test", a simplified water quality measurement method, furthermore,  a river width, depth and flow velocity are measured and fish, algae and creatures along the rivers are observed. 
These are where we are monitoring.

It is the aim of our monitoring activities to grasp the actuality and the problems of the natural environment and to effectively utilize the results obtained for action for improvement.
Sharing the results obtained in a sweat among the members and the residents
will expedite solidarity and affection toward the neighborhood.
